Mishima Mill—Produces about 8% of the Annual Paper Production Volume in Japan

The Mishima Mill, the Group’s most significant mill, undertakes the integrated production of paper and paperboard, starting from in-house production of pulp. Its total production volume is about 2.10 million t annually, which accounts for about 8% of the total paper and paperboard production in Japan.

Different grades of paper requires different types of pulp. Mishima mill possesses the pulp production facilities that can produce various types of pulps, such as both hardwood pulp and softwood pulp, mechanical pulp and recovered paper pulp. In addition, each pulp production facility is connected to the 16 paper machines via transportation pipes, hence making it possible to switch production to other grades of paper efficiently in order to meet the needs of the market.
